Here I will tell you all about why you should choose me (Amy Greiner) with Gold Point Pups as your next breeder! Below shows the whole process from contact to pickup. It will also show why my dogs should be your next puppy parents.
There are several ways I can be contacted. I connect best through Facebook messenger however, I can also be contacted through this website, Text (757)641-4093, and Instagram. After you contact me and decide you want a puppy from me, I will require a deposit to be placed on the waitlist.
To be put on the list before the puppies are born it's $100. When puppies are born its $500. If the deposit of $100 was placed before the litter was born and you selected a puppy/litter after they are born, then a remaining deposit of $400(Total of $500) will be required.
After a deposit is placed, you will be given a number on the master waitlist. When a litter is born, I will reach out to every person on the master waitlist according to their number. For example, Jane has placed a deposit for a Golden Retriever and is given the number 9 on the waitlist. She really wants a female. This means Jane has 9th pick of any of the puppies that are due or already born. One of my dogs has a litter of 10 and it is an all male litter, however, Jane has her heart set on a female. I then reach out to the numbers 1-8 on the master waitlist and ask if they would like a puppy from the current litter. All 8 people ahead of Jane except number 5 want to get a puppy from the all male litter. When the puppies go home or are picked the numbers on the list change. Number 5 is now 1 and Jane is number 2 on the list and now she can wait for her female in the next litter. Please note you will not be able to stay on the waitlist forever and there is a time limit of 2 years depending on how many puppies are born.
You will have to tell me if you want a male/female at time of birth. Picking your puppy will take place after the 6 week Volhard test is done.
After your deposit is placed, I will friend request you on Facebook and add you to the master group chat I have for each breed. This group chat will give updates of the next litter and their birth! After the puppies are born, I will reach out regarding your remaining deposit for a puppy/litter, then I'll add you to a specific litter only group chat. This chat allows you to communicate to other owners in the same litter and stay in contact with all of your puppy's siblings! This will also be where most information on the litter is updated. You can choose to leave the group chat or silence it if this is not for you. Pictures of your puppies are taken daily and sent to this group chat! You will see your new puppy everyday or every other day from the start of his/her life to pick-up day!
Some updates in this group chat include daily training, desensitization photos, deworming procedures, vaccine records, personality tests, food recommendations, outside trips, first bath photos, pool photos, potty training and just about any and everything that happens during and after your puppies stay with me.
I will make a chart with your name and set pickup time and send it to you the first week the puppies are born so you have plenty of time to arrange pickup. If you cannot make it in person at your set time, a boarding fee of $5 a night and any other expenses (shots, deworming etc.) will be due at time of pickup. Remaining Balance is required before or at pickup(For other arrangements including payment plans, please contact me). Please see transportation tab for transportation services. It doesn't end here, I'm here for any and all questions you have even after your puppy goes home! I strive to be a valuable resource and mentor for you throughout your dog's entire life.
Before any of my adult dogs are bred, they have had at least Hips, Elbows, Cardiac, Eyes, and breed specific DNA. Elbows, Cardiac, and Eyes are either done through OFA(Orthopedic Foundation Association). Hips are done either through PennHip or OFA. DNA will be done through Embark or cleared by parentage with certain lines.
Health doesn't stop or start here though. Being extremely educating in breeding is what makes a good breeder better and I try everyday to learn something new. Good nutrition, having a quality water supply, adhering to vaccination schedules, staying on top of parasite and flea and tick prevention, and conducting health and brucellosis testing of breeding stock all adhere to my policies.
Unfortunately, not every dog/puppy can be perfect. As much as I strive to have the healthiest puppies, sometimes the devil can rear its ugly head and take over in nature. When this takes place after the puppy goes home, I strive to be the best breeder by reimbursing or giving you another puppy(Conditions Apply).
Every dog I put into my program also has to have a wonderful pedigree. I conduct extensive research before I choose any new lines. My dog's pedigree not only reflects my dog's personalities but also their health. Health is traced back for generations to make sure my breeding stock is the best it can be. This is why I have dogs from all over the USA and even other countries. It is crazy what kind of dog you can get just based off a pedigree. I've owned dogs from average pedigrees as well as extensively titled pedigrees. Although I do believe that any puppy can be trained to do as one desires when trained properly, it is crazy how much of a difference there is in a dog's personality that has extensive titling/research/health in their pedigree. My lines will only strive to get better and better with every litter I have.
When breeding for good temperament, it’s important to understand that different breeds will have different traits that can be complementary or problematic. Also note that training when they go home plays a HUGE role in temperament. I strive for all my breeding dogs and puppies to have a happy and content disposition, laid back character, stable disposition, not prone to neurotic behavior, not easily frightened, outgoing rather than shy, not aggressive, content around children, confident around strangers, not spooked by loud noises, and submissive rather than dominant. Please note once again, I strive for this and each puppy may be different. Very important to remember it also really depends on the training that is done when the puppy goes home. With proper training and my lines, any of my puppies will obtain these attributes. Puppies are also tested with Volhard temperament testing before they go home and given results before choosing your puppy. To find out more about this test please click link below.
Here at Gold Point, not only are pedigrees important to me, but for Golden Retrievers and BMDs, I try my best to breed to their standard.
Breed Standard: A description of the ideal dog of each recognized breed, to serve as an ideal against which dogs are judged at shows, originally laid down by a parent breed club and accepted officially by national or international bodies.
Bernese Mt. Dog: "The Bernese Mountain Dog is a striking. tri-colored, large dog. He is sturdy and balanced. He is intelligent, strong and agile enough to do the draft and droving work for which he was used in the mountainous regions of his origin. Dogs appear masculine, while bitches are distinctly feminine."
Golden Retriever: "A symmetrical, powerful, active dog, sound and well put together, not clumsy nor long in the leg, displaying a kindly expression and possessing a personality that is eager, alert and self-confident. Primarily a hunting dog, he should be shown in hard working condition. Overall appearance, balance, gait and purpose to be given more emphasis than any of his component parts. Faults-Any departure from the described ideal shall be considered faulty to the degree to which it interferes with the breed’s purpose or is contrary to breed character."
For more information on each breed's standard, it can be located in the link provided below.
